The approximate position of this object is
RA: 05h 31.4m , Dec: -67d 06m

This is in an extremely crowded field within the LMC, so the progenitor position is unknown at this time. Observations of the new object to obtain precision astrometry, photometry, and spectroscopy are requested.

An AAVSO Alert Notice will be issued if and when the object is confirmed as a nova or other noteworthy event. [The object was confirmed as a nova, but no Alert Notice was issued - EOW 2017.]
