Rebecca Turner Astronomical Technical Assistant, Meeting Coordinator

Rebecca
Originally from Atlanta, GA, Rebecca is 31 years old and has worked for the AAVSO for eight and a half years. She came to Boston (and the AAVSO) right after receiving her Bachelor's degree in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Georgia in 1995. Rebecca has always been interested in both theatre and astronomy. Since arriving in Boston she has been very active in the local theatre community – even doing a few professional shows in the city.

For over 8 years she was the AAVSO Meeting Coordinator as well as the Technical Assistant in charge of both data requests and the validation project. Rebecca recently moved from the Boston area to the metro-New York City area to expand her performing horizons. Thanks to the wonders of telecommuting she now serves as an independent contractor, but still handles all of the same projects that she did as an employee.

Unfortunately Rebecca has not observed much since college. She does spend her evenings pursuing the stars - just a very different kind!
