  Volunteer Opportunities at the AAVSO

The success of the AAVSO is dependent upon the enthusiastic and generous volunteers that have helped sustain the mission of the Organization throughout the years. We rely on the time and efforts of our volunteers to help us with a multitude of tasks. Some of the prominent AAVSO volunteers have been featured on our website to thank them for the great work that they do. If you are interested in volunteering, we would appreciate your assistance!

Some examples of the types of things we need are listed below. These are subject to change and may not be a complete list of what we need. Please contact the AAVSO for specific examples of how you can help us out at any given time. Thank you!

Landscaping - Pull weeds, cut bushes, trim hedges, clean gutters, garden, etc.

Building Maintenance - Paint office walls, various recycling projects, etc.

Clerical - Answer telephone, stuff envelopes, type up old Alert Notices, scan RASNZ charts, organize chart drawers, etc.

Quality Control - Proofreading (JAAVSO, grant proposals, press releases), Mining bounced emails to remove obsolete address from database
