We had a question (in Turkish) posted to the AAVSO Facebook page that I could use some help answering. Roughly translated the question is: "What are the effects of supernovae on cluster stars and globular clusters?"

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Effect of supernovae on cluster stars

The first supernova will blow out any remaing gas (winds from massive stars may already have done that). There is also the possibility of polluting the atmospheres of nearby cluster stars with elements heavier than hydrogen and helium.
