Cannot connect to MySQL server

Hi Ed,

The YSO section is hosted apart from the aavso web site. We may have to contact Michael Poxon directly to see if knows what's up.

sql connection

Thanks for that. The hosting company recently upgraded its php/sql to SQLi (SQL improved) so that the site which was previously coded in standard SQL had to be recoded to SQLi. What page is causing the problems? Tell me and I'll fix it - thought I'd caught them all, but obviously not!

Hi Ed,
Thanks for that. Most

Hi Ed,

Thanks for that. Most of the pages work through an 'include' file so it should only be a case of changing that one file. Just going to have a cup of tea (how very British!!) and then will have a look. Might also put a link to AAVSO as asked for.

UXORs list unavailable

Hi Mike,

I have been checking the UXORs list for VSX the last couple of months (I was just about to send you a report about that) but I have been unable to finish that project due to the MySQL error messages with the webpage.

Now I get a different message: "Unrecognised connection type".

Something that can be done about this?

Cheers,
Sebastian

site largely up

Hi folks,

I have corrected most of the now-antiquated DB coding, and all pages/dropdowns work, apart from the 'search by constellation' option on the general YSO star search page. As a stopgap, you can simply choose 'show all'. I will be speaking to Martin, fellow-geek at my hosting company tomorrow (it's about 5.30 now and they've all gone home!)

PS... also made a link to AAVSO. It's on the orange LH panel, so will appear on every page. AAVSO don't host the YSO section site but I agree, it makes sense to have a link! YSO - the listening section ;-)
