Note: This Notice was originally titled:
SPECIAL AAVSO ALERT NOTICE TO PHOTOELECTRIC PHOTOMETRISTS MULTIWAVELENGTH MONITORING OF 2349+28 II PEGASI
It has been given the somewhat odd name "Alert Notice PEP #0" in 2014 so it will fit in with the other special PEP Alert Notices created by Aaron Price in 2001-2004. Eventually all of these special PEP Alert Notices will be renamed to something more consistent with Alert and Special Notice procotols. EOW 10/27/2014
October 24, 2014: Ms. Deanne Coppejans (PhD candidate, Radboud University Nijmegen (Netherlands) and University of Cape Town) and colleagues have requested AAVSO observer assistance in monitoring several dwarf novae in support of their campaign to observe them in outburst with the Very Large Array (VLA) to search for radio jets.
August 6, 2014: Dr. Margarita Karovska (Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics) and colleagues have requested AAVSO observer assistance in their campaign on the symbiotic variable RT Cru. Weekly or more frequent monitoring beginning now is requested in support of upcoming Chandra observations still to be scheduled.
July 9, 2014: The AAVSO requests observations for the upcoming eclipse of EE Cephei, a long-period eclipsing variable. EE Cep has a period of 2,050 days, and shows strong variations in the eclipse light curve from one event to the next. Observations are needed to study the morphology of the upcoming eclipse, which will be used to better understand the shape of the eclipsing disk and how it precesses. Mid-eclipse is predicted to be August 23, 2014, but the early stages of the eclipse may begin as much as a month earlier.
April 29, 2014: Dr. Peter Garnavich (University of Notre Dame) and Dr. Paula Szkody (University of Washington) have requested the help of AAVSO observers in monitoring the cataclysmic variable SBS 1108+574 (= CSS 120422:111127+571239) in support of upcoming Hubble Space Telescope observations. The HST COS (Cosmic Origins Spectrograph) will be carrying out far-ultraviolet spectroscopy of this target on 2014 May 12-13 UT.
