Note added September 27, 2016: Dr. Reynolds adds the following: "Visual observations would be useful in setting a baseline and understanding how variable the source is in a relative sense at the time of our HST observation."
September 20, 2016: Dr. Mark Reynolds (University of Michigan) and colleagues have requested AAVSO assistance in monitoring the cataclysmic variable GDS_J1701281-430612 in support of HST/COS observations scheduled for early October.
July 13, 2016: Dr. Colin Littlefield (University of Notre Dame) and colleagues Drs. Peter Garnavich (Notre Dame), Erin Aadland (Minnesota State), and Mark Kennedy (University College Cork) have requested AAVSO assistance in monitoring the intermediate polar cataclysmic variable FO Aqr beginning immediately.

Recent observations of the old nova intermediate polar magnetic catclysmic variable GK Per (Nova Per 1901) show the star brighter than minimum. However, it is too early to tell if an outburst is underway.
May 25, 2016: Roque Ruiz-Carmona, the principal investigator on the observing campaign on 20 CVs that was announced in AAVSO Alert Notice 543, reports that the campaign has been revised due to telescope issues. He writes:
