Silent Auction Items for the 105th Annual Meeting, November 2016

Bidding in a silent auction is done privately via pre-printed sheets of paper set up at the auction table. You may bid on multiple items at once. Afterward, the written bids are examined and the person who bid the highest for each item claims and pays for that item.

Please keep in mind that this is a fundraising event. Items are usually purchased for prices exceeding the item’s retail value. Please be generous. All the proceeds go directly to the general fund and support critical AAVSO operations.

Thank you - We passed our Annual Campaign goal!

Thanks to all of our generous donors - WE MADE IT!

We not only met our Annual Campaign goal, but exceeded it by more than $1000.00.

THANK YOU to everyone who contributed.

Your continuing support makes it possible for the AAVSO to continue providing the data, tools and services scientists, educators, students, observers and the public rely on.

2016 Annual Campaign: Closing the Gap

With only a few days left in this year's Annual Campaign, we are close to reaching, and with your help, passing our goal of raising $40,000 this year. Please help us reach our goal by making a tax-deductible donation by Monday, July 11th.

By making a donation to the 2016 Annual Campaign you will help the AAVSO continue to supply scientists, citizen astronomers, educators and students with the data, tools and services they can only get from the AAVSO.

2016 Annual Campaign: Providing Certainty in Uncertain Times

We live in exciting, unpredictable times. The boundaries of our knowledge are expanding at an accelerating rate, just like the universe we live in. It is impossible to know what the world will look like even five years from now.

The Argelander Society gains two new members

Friedrich Wilhelm August Argelander is generally considered the father of variable star astronomy. He was the first astronomer to begin a careful study of variable stars. At the time, only a handful of variables were known, and he was responsible for introducing the modern system of naming them using the capital letters R-Z.

Year End Giving 2015

Tis the season
If you’re like most people, you do your major giving toward the end of the year. This is also the time of year most non-profit organizations receive over half their donations for the calendar year.

Donating to AAVSO via Amazon.com

The good news is - there is more than one way to donate to AAVSO via Amazon.com. The bad news is – it is not as straightforward or easy as it could be.

The links from our website that connect users to our Amazon Associates Program direct you to an Amazon home page via the URL: http://www.amazon.com/?tag=aavso-20.
