November 6, 2006

Daniel W. E. Green, Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams, reports (Central Bureau Electronic Telegram 721) that N. Lee and W. Li report the Lick Observatory Supernova Search (LOSS) discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images taken on Oct. 22.56 UT (CCD magnitude 12.7) and Nov. 5.50 UT (magnitude 13.2).

SN 2006mq is located 16.6" east and 124.3" south of the center of ESO 494-G26, at:

R.A. = 08h 06m 12.39s, Decl. = -27o 33' 45.4" (2000.0)

Special Notice #242: SN 2011dh = Supernova in M51 = PSN J13303600+4706330

June 3, 2011: As an update to AAVSO Special Notice #241 (http://www.aavso.org/aavso-special-notice-241), the supernova in M51 has been designated SN 2011dh. Discovery, classification, and observation information have been published in IAU CBET 2736 (Daniel W. E. Green, ed.).

Coordinates: 13:30:05.08 +47:10:11.2  (J2000.0)
Coordinates source is Silverman et al., ATEL 3398

Observations should be submitted to the AAVSO International Database using the name SN 2011dh.

Discovered by: Libert A. G. Monard, Calitzdorp, Western Cape, South Africa

Discovery magnitude: 16.8 unfiltered CCD using a 35-cm RCX400 telescope (+SBIG ST8-XME camera)

Discovery date: 2015 March 9.789 UT

Coordinates:  R.A. 07 36 15.76   Dec. -69 30 23.0  (2000.0)
SN 2015F is located 40" west and 84" north of the center of NGC 2442.

Special Notice #393: Correction to Special Notice #392 [ASASSN-14lp]

December 11, 2014: In AAVSO Special Notice #392, the name of the supernova discovered in NGC 4666 was given as ASASSN-141p. It should have been ASASSN-14lp. That is to say, the text following the dash should
be "fourteen ell pee" and not "fourteen one pee".

Please create charts and submit observations using the name ASASSN-14lp.
