Curious Dark - Opinions Appreciated

Last night I took a series of darks. Some (4 out of 21) of my1x1 bin 30 second darks and all of my 2x2 bin 30 second darks had curious dark streaks (see attached image, 21 has the streak). All the 2x2 bin darks had streaks of dark pixels that were vertical (or almost so). All longer integrations lack any indication of this phenomenon.

Any ideas as to the cause?

neat!  Pretty low-level, I'd say.  A couple of questions:  what kind of camera, what operating temperature, what image acquisition software?  On, say, the 2x2 darks, do the streaks occur in exactly the same place for each successive image?

I've never seen anything quite like that, though it looks like signal-chain electronic noise.

Sorry I did not reply sooner. Details:

1. Atik 4000 CCD

2. -10c operating temperature

3. Sequence Generator Pro was the capture software.

4. Yes, the streaks on all 2x2 binned 30 second images appear to be in the same location. None occur on other 2x2 (or 1x1) binned images of greater integration times.

As you say, Arne, it is strange. I am going to try additional darks. A 2x2 30 second frame is attached.
