Hi. My name is Tom and I'm the new owner of the John's Dalton observatory. It looks like the most of Johns equipment is still there. It was boxed up with drywall and someone made a living space in his observatory. I just took the walls down and everything looks pretty good. Power has been disconnected and nobody used the scope for long time Im sure.  I would like to find better home for the dome and the telescop and I hate to take it down. Obviously Im not going to lern about the stars. I would be more than happy to sthow this unit to potential new owner. If You guys know who might be interrested in purchasintg the entire dome. I have  the pictures available.

Dalton's Observatory

Dear Tom:  Great Pictures. Will copy them and spread them around. Thanks for taking the time.

I know some folks at the Antique Telescope Society and others. I don't know why the others have not reponded, but maybe the nice weather and yard work. But, anyhow, It looks great to me. I however don't have any finances or a good place for an observatory. Best, if nothing else, I know a lot of people who are in restoration and hope you don't mind folks coming by to check it out.  I discovered that you have to be logged-in to access the pictures. They are not there if you just are visiting.  Got them now.  Best HNL

When I moved this

Hi Tom,

When I moved this to a new topic, the fourth picture was accidentally deleted.  Could you please post it again?  Thank you!

Best regards,

I'm Nearby

Hi Tom,

I live in New Milford so I'm close by. I'd love to come and take a look at the observatory and scope and perhaps take some measurements and photos. This is a one of a kind setup and it would be a shame to just take down. Perhaps after I see it, I could make some suggestions about what to do with it.

I give you a call in the next day or two.

....Tim
