by Paul Van Cauteren, Aartselaar, Belgium, Tonny Vanmunster, Landen, Belgium,
and Gary Poyner, Birmingham, England, of the outburst of the WZ Sge-type dwarf
nova UZ Boo. York observed UZ Boo on August 17.167 UT at visual magnitude
13.9.

The last observed outburst of UZ Boo occurred on September 23, 1978, when it
reached visual magnitude 11.5 and remained bright for approximately 28 days.

Recent observations include: Aug 7.906 UT, <14.4, (G. Poyner, Birmingham,
England), 12.159, <14.8 (M. Adams, McDonald Observatory, TX); 15.891, <13.3

Accompanying is an AAVSO "e" scale chart of UZ Boo prepared by C. Scovil.
Please use it to observe this star and report your observations to AAVSO
Headquarters so that we may inform the astronomical community. Please
indicate which comparison stars you used in making your observations when
reporting them. The answering machine at Headquarters, with our charge free
number (1-800-642-3883), is on nights and weekends for your convenience.

Janet Mattei, who is in The Hague, Netherlands, attending the International
Astronomical Union General Assembly, and I thank you very much for your
astronomical efforts and contributions.

Good observing!
