Checklist for Reporting Eclipsing Binary Data

We always seem to end up with someone who fails to heed all the instructions when reporting their data. Use this checklist when preparing your report and reduce our problems when processing data.

  1. Report data on 8 1/2" x 11" paper, one side only.
  2. Put your name on every page.
  3. Do not convert time to JD.
  4. Specify time used (UT preferred but not required).
  5. For each minimum:
    • (a) list star's name;
    • (b) give the double date (include year);
    • (c) follow with time (to the nearest minute) and magnitude in parallel columns.
  6. Review every entry for accuracy and legibility.
  7. General correspondence on separate sheet.
  8. All eclipsing binary observations, and questions, must be sent to the EB Committee Chairman at:

      Marvin E. Baldwin
      8655 N. County Road 775 E
      Butlerville, IN 47223-9220
      USA

    Eclipsing Binary Charts can be obtained from:

      Gerry Samolyk
      9504 W. Barnard Ave.
      Greenfield, WI 53228
