High Energy Network Filter Grant Application

The AAVSO has received a generous grant from the Curry Foundation to purchase CCD filters for use by members of the AAVSO International High Energy Network. We have a few 1.25" Iz and Ic filters available for semi-permanent loan.

The Iz filters are intended for use in GRB afterglow hunting. The Ic filters are intended for use in monitoring blazars for the High Energy Network but can also be used for other variable star projects.

Recipients of the filters will receive them on loan from the AAVSO. Recipients are expected to observe GRB afterglow fields and/or blazars as appropriate. Recipients must return the filters to the AAVSO upon request.

If a filter is used for any non-AAVSO project then any publication of that should include an acknowledgement of the AAVSO and the Curry Foundation.
