Outreach & Education Activities
One of the primary goals of the AAVSO International High Energy Network is to educate the
public about high energy phenomenon and promote high energy research and science. We have used two main methods
to do this. The first is by educating the public through a grassroots campaign of
talks, presentations, workshops, and discussions given by network members. The second is
by using popular science and mass media channels. Below is a summary and list of some of the activity.
The AAVSO as a whole excels at this type of work. If you would like to get involved,
begin a collaboration, or just have any questions about our educational activities please
contact us!
Mass Media
The following articles have been published about GRBs and the network.
Grassroots Outreach Campaign
The AAVSO International GRB Network grassroots efforts can be broken down into these
catgeories:
For talks/presentations/discussions:
to amateurs - 58
to students - 35
to educators - 6
to the general public - 18
to professionals - 4
informal discussion - 7
For articles:
online - 8
in journals/magazines/newsletters - 10
For personal/career enrichment - 6
Talks, presentations, papers, and/or workshops about GRBs were given at the following locations by members of the network.
