Submit a GRB Observation Report

Use this form to submit observation information to the AAVSO High Energy Network. This information will be used to put together GCN Notices.

Direct posting to aavso-hen mailing list has been disabled. Please post a message directly to the discussion group if you feel an immediate response from the observer community is required. Please do still fill this report out when you observe a GRB field so that we have a record of your observation.

  • Official reports should always be posted with this form:

    This form was designed to give us all the info we need to determine whether a GCN is warranted. By leaving any info out, you make it difficult for us to make the call and we will always err on the side of caution. So it is in your best interest to use the form.

    Please DO NOT copy/paste the form and send the report via e-mail. The discussion group software sometimes takes a long time to distribute e-mail. If you use the form, you guarantee that we get the data without delay.

  • Feel free to post prelim reports or any info you want to the GRB discussion group in ANY format you want. However, only data sent via the above form will be considered for a GCN. Anything not sent with that form will be considered preliminary data.
  • We must have error and comp stars listed in the report. Consult the recent CCD Views for help in determining error: http://www.aavso.org/ccdviews/314.shtml
