Solar Software Downloads

The software listed here may be downloaded for free. These programs will help you to prepare and analyze solar observations. The three utilities (SolObs, Sunkey, and Solar Reporting Form) each produce an acceptable format in which to submit your sunspot observations. You are welcome to use the package that is easiest for you. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

NOTE: SolObs does not support the reporting of group and spot locations on the solar disk. If you customarily observe and report such information, both SUNKEY and the text file version provide appropriate formats.

• AAVSO Software User Agreement - Please read and fill out before downloading any software.
• SolObs 1.0 - SolObs is a Windows-based software package to enter in sunspot observations for submission to the Solar Committee. It also includes a Stonyhurst Template tool to create and print customized Stonyhurst charts for any day of the year.
