FWIW, the R magnitudes on Bruce's site work for me to an internal 
consistency of 0.014 mag, which seems pretty darn good to me and is 
much better than Tycho or USNO at this magnitude. Specifically I am 
using the stars labeled 13.3 and 12.8 on the AAVSO "F" chart. According 
to Bruce's site these have R magnitudes of 12.88 and 12.46 
respectively. My plot with the updated zeropoint is here:
