Chuck, Radu, and Greg,
Thanks so much for your input. I have been poring over many documents, some
of which you have mentioned.
In my web search for bvri documents, I came across one by Bruce Gary that
looks very helpful. You can see it at:

Chuck, I have been intending to get Arne's book, but I, like manyothers,
have been anxiously awaiting the new edition. I may just have to get the
curent book and then the new one when it comes out.
Greg, I will look into the software you mentioned. I must say that my
experience with AIP4WIn in V photometry has been spectacular. The authors
are coming out shortly with an update, so I may hold off on any purchases
until I see what they have in store.
Radu, thanks for your explanation of the formulas. It does clear things up a
bit, but I know I will need to delve further into this. I can see that I
have much to learn.
