Hi Dave

> How many stars can I measure?

I think this is a number between 1 and 50000.

An example for 1:
I have observed a binary star at 24 (more or less) completely
nights, to catch all parts of the lightcurve.

An example for 50000:
If you take a survey like Stardial, ASAS or LINEAR you will
get circa 500 stars per image. With two images per field
you will get 100 fields. If you have a great CCD chip
you will get more stars.
I will start a survey in the next time. The software is
completely self made. From controlling the stepper to
displaying the lightcurve.

An other example:
If you going for gamma ray bursts, your rate will be 0.1 or
0.01 GRBs/night.

Photometry is a very wide field ;)

Clear skies
