Dear colleagues,
I have just posted a lightcurve of my CCD observations (nearly 500 data) of
Var79 Peg on my website (www.cbabelgium.com), covering the nights of 2005,
Aug 17/18 and Aug 18/19. The variable faded from (unfiltered) mag 15.25 to
mag 15.69 over the course of 1 day, and shows no evident periodic
modulations (I tried several period analysis methods in Peranso).
The present outburst most likely is not a superoutburst, and - combined with
my observations from Oct 2004 - I suspect that Var79 Peg probably is an
UGSS-type dwarf nova.
I will not further follow-up this outburst, but rather switch to other
targets.
Best regards,
Tonny
