Dear colleagues,
Despite medium quality sky conditions over Belgium (moonlight, bit of haze),
I succeeded in concluding an unfiltered CCD photometry session on the new
object near M27, using a 0.35-m f/6.3 telescope and ST-7XME CCD camera at
CBA Belgium Observatory. The session started at 20h UT (2005, Aug 23) and
lasted for nearly 5 hours. I used exposure times of 100 sec and stacked
images per 4, to generate sufficient pixel count (combined exposure time :
400 sec).
A first inspection of the resulting light curve shows modulations with an
amplitude of 0.2 - 0.3 mag, and a slowly fading trend. There is no clear
superhump-like profile, although a "semi-periodic" signal might be present.
I will publish the light curve on my web site later this evening.
Follow-up time-series CCD photometry is strongly recommended, despite the
fact that this is a difficult photometric target.
Best regards,
Tonny
