Dear colleagues,
Following the announcement by Rob Jansuzewski on Aug 29.9, 2005 of a Var79
Peg outburst (CVnet-outburst), I decided to spend a few hours on this
target, on Aug 30/31 2005 (with my second telescope aimed at AE Aqr). This
was a follow up on my CCD observations earlier this month, when I collected
about 500 CCD observations of Var79 Peg over 2 nights. They did not reveal
any periodic signals.
The light curve resulting from my Aug 30/31 session is presented on my
website http://www.cbabelgium.com. Clearly, this outburst was brighter than
the previous one, but there still is no evidence of superhump-like signals.
Modulations with an amplitude of 0.1 mag are present, but very irregular in
shape. It adds again more evidence to my assumption that this is likely an
UGSS-type dwarf nova.
Kind regards,
Tonny
