[Aavso-photometry] Commercial Announcement: New Mira AL Software

Hi Cary,

I am sorry to hear that there was a misunderstanding of our license policy.
Clearly, we never intended any person to think they could only put Mira on a
single computer. A Mira user is free to put Mira on as many computers as
they own, provided it is for their private use. We're talking about
individuals here, who often have multple computers. That's fine. But for
academic, government, and commercial customers---clearly, we can't be
selling a single copy to install on multiple computers used by different
people. For academics, government, and commercial customers who want
multiple installations, we offer discounted site licenses. Individuals don't
come under those categories.

Hi Michael,

The main question I have about Mira is the registration key system. I used
Mira Pro in the past but eventually abandoned it because your key system was
too stringent. I change computers almost as often as underwear and having
to acquire a new key every time I messed with my computer hardware config is
just too much to ask.

Do you still do this? Or have you fallen back to a registration system like
Maxim DL uses? I liked what Mira had to offer but found keeping an active
system together to be too much hassle because of the key system.

Thanks,

-Cary
