Var Her 04 is not on that page I considered that campaign done at the end of
May when I posted a message to the discussion group saying this:
"After the APO observations we should be done with Var Her 04 campaigns for
now. All we need after that is the long term snapshot monitoring."
Earlier this month I noticed we had no more active campaigns running and
also our montoring of Var Her 04 in Ic was not very consistent. So I posted
another message to the discussion group asking people to keep monitoring it.
I didn't consider it a campaign at the time (and never used those words).
That ties into the question, "what is a campaign?". At the top of the
campaign web page we have this disclaimer:
"Disclaimer: An observing campaign is defined as a request for observations
to achieve a specific goal, usually over a finite amount of time. This does
not include ongoing monitoring requests."
So I guess I interpreted the Var Her 04 request as a permanent monitoring
request. However, we do have a specific finite goal. If we can get enough of
a light curve to establish the star's class then it will add an important
element to the big Var Her 04 paper I hope to write this summer. So this
program straddles the line. We'll go ahead and put it back on the page as it
can only help us get the observations needed.
BTW, the recent observations coming in have been great.
