[Aavso-photometry] Mis-identifications

In spite of previous private emails pointing out the mis-identification of
variables by CCD observers using automated software and NOT using AAVSO
charts we still are culling through spurious and _obviously_ erroneous
observations for CVnet-outburst and the CVnet Circular.
Please be sure, especially if you have FITS file to verify these
observations, that you are observing the correct star.
All of these are close doubles, and these observations are very accurate
representations of the companions' actual magnitude...not the variable.
EG LAC 2246+54 (UGSS):
SEP 16.8209 2453630.3209 12.33 CXR K CCDV
SEP 16.8213 2453630.3213 12.32 CUA K CCDV
EF PEG 2110+13 (UGSU):
SEP 16.8371 2453630.3371 12.51 CXR K CCDV
SEP 16.8375 2453630.3375 12.57 CUA K CCDV
>AAVSO QL files show a bright outburst of V1316 Cyg
detected by A & R Corlan...
SEP 17.7302 2453631.2302 14.43 CXR K CCDV
SEP 17.7305 2453631.2305 14.39 CUA K CCDV
This looks to be the brightest outburst reported for
over ten years. Time series photometry would be great!
There has been some confusion in the past as to the ID of
V1316 Cyg. AAVSO charts should be used as they do (of course)
show the correct star as the Variable.
This object is on the BAAVSS Recurrent Objects Programme.

>All,
Very clear skies over Belgium tonight, so I made a CCD image of the V1316
Cyg field at about 19h05 UT (Sep 19, 2005). V1316 Cyg definitely is *NOT* in
outburst.
Best regards,
Tonny

Neither EF Peg, EG Lac nor V1316 Cyg are in outburst.
