[Aavso-photometry] Photometry with color CCD?

Dear list,
i'm in trouble. I want to by a new ccd camera. I have found the Orion
starshoot ccd color camera, including MaxIm DL - Essentials. But, is a
color ccd good for photometry, or should i better take an s/w camera
like the Meade DSI Pro II. Boths cameras have the same resolution
(752x582), but the DSI will only be available in the US in february.
Don't know when it will come to germany.
