[Aavso-photometry] HMXB campaign from Alert Notice 348

Hello all,

There's a lot of activity going on at the moment, and the amount of data
we're getting for GW Lib, BZ UMa, and everything else is fantastic.
The BZ UMa superhump light curves are beautiful, and we're all looking
forward to see how GW Lib evolves.

The AAVSO has several projects going on at this time, and those of you who
can participate in our observing campaigns are encouraged to do so,
especially right now.

We'd like to send out a plea on behalf of Dr. Gordon Sarty's campaign on
HMXBs, announced in Alert Notice 348. Spectroscopic observations of these
stars are coming up soon, beginning April 4 and continuing through May 2.
Photometry collected between now and then will be used to further
constrain the behavior of these objects, so observations are needed now as
well as during their spectroscopic run.

More information is available on the Alert Notice page, here:

http://www.aavso.org/publications/alerts/alert348.shtml#hm

These high-mass X-ray binaries are all relatively bright (9-10) and at
high northerly declinations (+47 to +55), so if GW Lib is too far south
for you, the HMXBs are excellent alternative targets.

Whatever you choose to observe, clear skies & happy observing!

Matthew Templeton, AAVSO
