[Aavso-photometry] Beginner CCD Questions..

Hi Derek,
I observe with an 8" LX200 with a ST7e CCD camera in alt-az mode,
and I have sent about 30,000 obs. to AAVSO, and many thousands
to CBA.
The only restriction I find is not to observe within about 15 degrees of
the zenith.
I try and keep my exposures under about 45 seconds, not because of
rotation, but the tracking is not too good.
If I want to get below magnitude 12.5 to 13.0 or so, I stack images until I
get the SNR I want for that object.
You should have no trouble getting down to mag 16 with your 12".
So don't give it away, have a go!!
