OK AAVSOvians!
The scope is cooling to ambient with the dome shutters open now in the
1.85m DAO scope in Victoria BC, Canada. Clear, clear, clear!
I got work for ever last one of you tonite! How about giving me some
coverage on the HMXB campaign stars?
The job is easy! Set up on an HMXB star and run on it as long as you
can tonite and if you can, stay on that star for the next week - all
night time-series as long as you can go. I'd can help you choose a star
so that we can get coverage as many as we can for as long as we can.
All data should be reduced from Dr. Sarty's chart values on his website
& sent to the AAVSO International dbase. The list of HMXBs covered this
run:
1930+53 1H1936+541 19:32:52.3 +53:52:45.5 9.8
2027+47 RXJ2030.5+4751 20:30:30.9 +47:51:50.7 9.3

0549+28B 1H0556+286 05:55:55.1 +28:47:06.4 9.2
0630+05B SAXJ0635+0533 06:35:18.3 +05:33:06.3 12.8
The charts are here:

I will be doing repeated spectra of these stars over and over as long as
it is clear. We are looking to determine orbtial periods, so we need
lots of data - both nightly time series and over the next nights and
weeks. We also need photometric data to correlate to the spectra I am
taking. :-) Can't be snowing everywhere!
Also - if you can, log into the chat group for the next week. I will be
posting results and requests throughout the next 7 days. Please - if
you are going to help out, post what you are running on either here or
on the chat group, and I will then be able to assign observers to stars
which are not being covered.
Thanks to everyone in advance!
