Hey - clear skies once again! 2nd night now actually running on the DAO
1.85m scope in Victoria, BC, Canada.

Doing a spectrum of LPH115 at this minute and will work my way through
the list. If you have a spare photometer not doing much tonite, please
see my instructions from last night's email, and help us out! Shawn
Dvorak is on LPH034 right now. All others are up for grabs for
all-night time-series. If you can't spare long time-series, then just
get me 5 quick consecutive hits on all the HMXBs you can offer me tonite
- would be very much appreciated so I can correlate my spectra with
orbital phase (that we are looking for).

Shawn discovered a new var in field LPH057 2 nights ago - GSC 1875-1544
now VSX 055553.3+285050 - a new dSct ~0.055d and 12.43 - 12.50V.
Congrats! More new stars for all of you in these fields, plus the
contribution to helping solve the orbital mysteries of the HMXBs. Some
new vars - mostly still uncharacterized are within these fields and they
need data too. See the attached notes on Gord's charts for details.
I've listed all known and suspected vars there.

Remember - amplitudes are low - so expose upward to saturation, and have
fun! Jump onto the discussion group if you can if you are HMXB imaging.

Thanks,

rick HUZ
