[Aavso-photometry] Software for ToM calculation (Pedro Pastor)

Thank you very much Kazuo, Bob, and Tom,

I got to know AVE but this software only looks for the period but it doesn't
calculates the precise time instant for the minima (or the maxima) of a
light curve. It happens the same as for Peranso software (in fact both share
a great deal of functionality). Also, both applications lack the ability to
deal with eclipsing binaries. They are not aware of the "double cycle"
feature (2 min. and 2 max.), and thy provide a period (aprox) half the real
one ?¿?

I didn't know about Bob Nelson collection of software tools. I'll give them
a try to see if some package fulfils my needs.

My needs are to work out an ephemeredes equation from a set of light curve
points. I mean, I'd like to get a "initial time instant" point and a
"period" factor in order to predict future events (together with the
determination of the uncertainty for both parameters).

Best wishes for the New Year.

Pedro

I use ´minima´ at:
http://members.shaw.ca/bob.nelson/software1.htm

It allows you to determine ToM six different ways, and uses a simple text
file format. Example files are provided so that you can practice with them
and see how different techniques work on different shape eclipse light
curves.

Bob has produced a whole set of useful tools for EB work...predictions, ToM
extraction, etc.

And he´s still updating the software if you find bugs.
