Same problem here in the UK, but don't worry there will be plenty of people 
reselling them on e-bay in the comming months I suspect ;-)

If you are looking for a cheap(ish) camera for photometry, I use the ATIK 
ATK16-IC. A  better camera than the DSI  IMO
