I have seen where people were not clear on this functionality and submitted with this button incorrectly clicked. They then submit a magnitude estimate of say, 10.0 and a comp star of say, 10.5, and the database comes up with a value of 20.5 for the target star magnitude. In the case we discuss here, a person would click the button correctly if submitting differential mags but that magnitude would be added to a "label" rather than a real magnitude in the correct bandpass.

PCObs is an entirely different beast, as is any batch upload
format. My comments were purely in regards to the WebObs manual
upload interface.

We are creating two new AAVSO data formats that will go into
effect in a month or so, and they should resolved these issues.
