[Aavso-photometry] Starting up CCD Obs of Variable Stars

Thank you to all those people who responded to me, including the many replies
off-list. I have been inundated with suggestions and am trying to absorb it all.

When I find that a star is listed in the GCVS, is there any way online to
ascertain what *kind* of variable it is? In addition to CV KX Aql, I am very
tempted by V0401 Ara, nicely located within the field of view of the new
Southern Landolt field, LSE 259. However, my general Google searches have not
turned up any information to identify the kind of variable V0401 Ara is.
