Another interesting situation is possible with the new
updated photometry. If you plot X Cyg (that is the
Roman X, not the Greek chi), and choose say a B-scale
chart, you will find two 74 stars displayed on the chart.
One of those stars (the one closest to X Cyg; the southernmost
one) has updated photometry. The northernmost 74 star just
shows up on the tables as 7.400(0.000), indicating that you
have the label magnitude and nothing more. It is one of those
stars that gets updated in the next release, as its true
magnitude is 0.26mags fainter than the displayed magnitude,
and the first update had a 0.2mag cutoff.
In a case like this, where you have two stars with the same
labelled magnitude, but with one having updated photometry
and the other one without new photometry, choose the updated
star for your comparison star, and be sure to indicate your choice
in the comments field. It is not necessary to email us about
this situation, as it will get corrected when the next update
occurs.
