Tom,

I've done two nights on GJ436 this season using a four-star ensemble of 
GSC 1984 2006, GSC 1984 2050 (= HIP 57103), GSC 1984 1884, and GSC 1984 
1928.  None of them showed any variation at the 0.01 mag level.
