How's this for luck?

I just started imaging a starfield just off of FY Cyg a week ago to 
monitor a new Mira var I found a few years ago.  My CCD has a 42' fov, 
so once the Cyg nova was announced - near FY - I quickly reviewed my 
images hoping for pre-discovery rise images of the nova at the corner of 
the frame.  Lo and behold - there it was!  3' *off* the edge of the 
frame!  Close call.  Bummer!
