[Aavso-photometry] Again on averaging images for photometry

After the recent discussion about this topic I would like to know if
at the end of the day there is  a suitable software for averaging
images without destroying the photometic data in them. Michael
Koppleman said that if averaging is needed it must be done in a way
that conserves the flux. My question is: can I reach this goal
automatically with a software?
