Hi Yenal

If you don't know the new AUID, old Harvard Designation or the official
AAVSO name of a var, you can look it up in the validation file at:
http://www.aavso.org/observing/aids/validation.shtml
But its often difficult to find such entries with coordinates in the name
there as they are often truncated to different numbers of digits.

So its a more straight forward way to search for the var in VSX
http://www.aavso.org/observing/aids/validation.shtml
by coordinates with a larger search radius that finds more than one
var in that area. If just one var is found, its displayed, no matter how
far its away from the given position. If one increases the search
radius, VSX displays also the distance from the given position if
one orders the output by angular seperation. This is required to
decide if the found var(s) is identical with the one you are looking
for.

But it doesn't seem to be in the validation file or VSX yet and you'll
have the HQ assign it an AUID.

Clear skies
 Wolfgang
