[Aavso-photometry] Peranso vs Minima V2.3 question

Yenal,

I use Peranso but I don't know Minima.

If you change left-right margin you MUST obtain a differente Time of
Minimum (TOM) since the KVW algorithm is applied to a different set of data.

As regard as different results with different software: how large is the
error (I mean the standard deviation) on the TOM? Peranso gives that
value; I guess Minima too. Is it comparable with the difference you
notice between the software packages?

In the end, consider that KVW algoritm is very suitable for symmetric
set of data. How much symmetric are your LCs?

Hope this help.

Sincerely,

Riccardo Papini

Both use the same algorithm: Kwee-van Woerden. ~5 min is not a small difference right? And I also observe that when you change the positions of the margins, Minima always give the same result but on the other hand Peranso's result changes when you change margins' position and this change is around 0.003 days. I am surpised with this as Minima is freeware and Peranso is not. Am I doing something wrong with Peranso?
