You know how hard it is to get a field calibrated? Even
with me around, you still have to ask that I put a field
on the Sonoita queue (if the field is even visible from
Arizona) and wait for some good weather. I think I have
the ultimate solution, and with the help of a few friends
(and the Robert Martin Ayers Sciences Fund), I think
that the entire sky will soon be photometrically calibrated.
I've held off announcing this survey until the hardware
pieces all fell into place. Everything is progressing
forward, as smoothly as it ever does with new technology,
but you can read about the new survey at:

This is something that I've been working towards for the
better part of a decade, and with the backing of
Robert Ayers, I think it is now a secure project that
will succeed.
