[Aavso-sid-list] Solar Eclipse, 2008-08-01

Hi All,

Observing the Solar Eclipse at VLF/LF (approx. 920 channels from 10-96 
KHz) I found a significant effect on 66.67 KHz only. This is a 
transmitter near Moscow (73°, 1726km). The Eclipse was partial (23%) 
here at 54N/10E with a maximum around 09:37 utc (11:37 local).

The maximum of the observed effect was around 09:50 utc which is in 
coincidence with the eclipse maximum at the virtual reflection point 
between Kiel, North Germany, and Moscow.

Interestingly I found no significant effect on 37.5 KHz (Iceland, 313°, 
2117km) where the propagation path may comparable.
