Standardized Magnitude

The standardized magnitude for the variable is given by

V_std = (V_ins - C_ins) + C_std

where V_ins is the instrumental magnitude of the variable, C_ins is the instrumental value of the comparison, and C_std is the chart magnitude for the comparison (or the equivalent for ensemble photometry).
