 1. QS TEL - MONITOR FOR CHANDRA OBSERVATIONS

It is possible that QS Tel may be brightening according to
these observations from Berto Monard (South Africa). More
observations are needed to confirm this activity.

        JUL 08.0330 2453194.533 16.5 MLF CR
        JUL 11.7550 2453198.255 16.4 MLF Y
        JUL 28.8380 2453215.338 15.6 MLF CR
        JUL 30.9930 2453217.493 15.7 MLF CR

Dr. Christopher Mauche, Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory, has requested our assistance in monitoring QS Tel
for triggering of observations with the Low Energy
Transmission Grating on the Chandra satellite. If QS Tel
reaches V=15.5 or brighter then begin time series
observations in V or R. Report your observations to the AAVSO
as soon as possible. Unfortunately the light curve of QS
Tel is not sufficiently established to determine whether 15.5
is bright enough to warrant the Chandra observation. So any
additional data at any magnitude will be useful. QS Tel's
orbital period is 2 hours and 20 minutes so please observe
long enough to monitor any changes in its period (5 hours
would be great!).
