1. MONITOR THE BLAZAR 4C 29.45 FOR SPITZER OBSERVATIONS

Dr. Gordon Spear (Sonoma State University) has requested observations of the blazar 4C 29.45 in collaboration with a GLAST campaign to support Spitzer Space Telescope observations.

4C 29.45 is at RA: 11:59:31.8 Dec: 29:14:44 (2000).

The Spitzer observations are planned to begin at June 09 18:32 UT.

Please observe it every night until July 1 using the following guidelines:

+ Dates: June 8-9 (intensive time series ), June 8-June 30 (monitoring)
+ Coverage: For the time series window, observe as long as possible. For the monitoring window, observe once or twice per night.
+ Filters: V, Ic
+ Exposure Time: Aim for an SNR of 100.

Comments from Dr. Spear: "The object being observed is not for the faint of heart. It is one of our 'faint' objects with a nominal magnitude near 16th. But it is also an object that has not been extensively observed. It is a good'ol blazar and can indeed vary by 4 magnitudes in a year... when it feels like it. It can get as bright as 14, but it can also get as faint as nearly 18."

Our latest reported observation of the blazar:
JUN 01.1002 17.36 KKQ CCDV Err: 0.09

KKQ Kevin Kessler Ellicott City, MD, USA.
