Abstract
This catalogue (published
in the Bull. A.F.O.E.V., No. 15,
1981, pp. 5-12) contains about 300 stars brighter than magnitude 15 that are
simultaneously variable in light and members of visual binaries. The list was compiled in several steps. First we
selected stars that appear in both the General Catalogue of Variable Stars (Kurkarkin et al. 1969) and the Index Catalogue of Visual Double
Stars (Jeffers et al. 1963). This selection gave a list of 223 pairs
brighter than magnitude 10. To this list we added the stars of the catalogue of
Baize (1962) which had not already been included, and also the stars of the Cataloge
of Flare Stars (Pettersen 1976).
The catalogue contains stellar coordinates, identification
numbers, type of variability, period, magnitudes at maximum and minimum,
spectral types, separation and position angle, and parallax. Individual notes
are appended to many entries.
