Abstract
The development of variable star observations in Latin America during
the 20th century is reviewed and the perspectives for future development with
classical (visual) and modern (CCD) technologies are analyzed. Some interesting
results of the cooperative work at LIADA are also presented and future programs,
to be developed starting this year, are commented upon.
