I wholeheartedly second this. Dan and his lovely wife are among the highlights of every AAVSO meeting for me. I just cannot imagine them without him and her. I am glad he'll be in Rockford and hope to see them both at other future meetings. Perhaps we need to plan them around good birding areas? :) Dan is not only very smart and experienced, but he also is more than willing to share his skills with others. And remember he put in a lot of time for the organization's governance as well, serving the full terms as council member, 2nd VP, 1st VP, president and then past president!
