These are very necessary improvements! Especially at the beginning of  
a run I might play around with different exposure times. It is very  
nice when my photometry software reads the time from the FITS header  
and performs the photometry correctly based on it. If you use scaled  
darks frames, like many of us do, you don't have to worry about the  
fact that one exposure was 120 seconds and another was 180 seconds  
during reductions either.

Haven't gotten the new AIP but I might have to consider it, although  
I'm quite happy with my current options (Mira and IRAF).
